JAPANESE NOODLE BY SHIMOGAMO.Ramen, udon, soba, somen - there are so many forms of noodle dishes from Japan, and like with any culture, noodle dishes are something that are close to people's lives, on the street and at home. They are same to us, a family who founded Shimogamo, a long-standing Japanese restaurant in Chandler, founded in 2003.

Why takeout only? Shimogamo operates a take-out joint in Scottsdale inside of Kitchen United Mix. As we reviewed its sales, surprisingly, one of the top selling items was not sushi, but noodles. As COVID-19 started to spread, and restaurants are forced to limit their dine-in services, Shimogamo decided to launch Gamo Men, to focus serving noodle dishes for takeout. All of Gamo Men's dishes are made to bear the travel of takeout, developed through multiple tastings of different products and cooking methods.
Who is Behind Gamo Men?
Mika Otomo
Born native Japanese and raised in Arizona, she is a daughter of Sanae and Yoshio Otomo, founder of Shimogamo. With her passion for culinary and service industry, she decided to take on the task of taking the business to the next level by launching Gamo Men and expanding takeout operations. |
Daisuke Itagaki
With more than 12 years as an executive chef at the fine dining restaurants from Tokyo, Daisuke brings skills and talent to create the dishes that are beyond typical street food. Daisuke creates recipes and provides executive direction to Gamo Men’s product development. |
Micki Hudson
From sushi and fine cuisine to pastries, Micki's culinary versatility is critical to our takeout operation. She manages the kitchen to execute the time-sensitive, yet detail-oriented recipes to the order. Her focus on precision ensures the delivery of quality dishes to diner’s table. |
